Steven Anthony Wheeler

Steven Anthony Wheeler, age 70, of Mount Vernon, passed away on September 16, 2026. Steven was born on March 23, 1956, in Columbus, to the late James M and Joyce Ann (Pelphrey) Wheeler.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed putting together model cars and woodworking, taking pride in the things he created with his hands. Above all, he cherished his family and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, who brought him great joy. He was a special person to all who knew him and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Judy Lynn Wheeler; children, Jason Wheeler, Casey (Ali) Wheeler; grandchildren, Brittany Wheeler, Allison Wheeler, Katy Wheeler, Brooklynn Wheeler, Jaxon Wheeler, Ryan Wheeler, Lane Wheeler; sister, Kelly (Jason) Burris; sister-in-law Sandra Wheeler.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Mark Wheeler.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 12 – 2 pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, where his service will immediately follow at 2 pm. Burial will take place in Bennington Chapel Cemetery.
