Timothy Lee Smith, Sr, age 78, of Newark, passed away at his home Sunday, February 16, 2025. He was born in Newark on December 18, 1946, to the late Edward A. and Bonnie (McCowan) Smith, Sr.

Timothy proudly served in the US Navy and retired as a Chief Petty Officer after 22 years of service. He was an avid golfer and fisherman.

He is survived by his children, Timothy Lee (Marla) Smith, Jr, Samuel E. Smith, James E. Smith; step daughters, Lorilee (Perry) Winfrey and Ronna (Don) Pickering and Kellie Cole; grandchildren, Sarah, Taylor, Taryn, Hailey, Joshua, and Nevaeh; siblings, Al (Shirley) Smith and Margaret Morrison.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 19 years, Sally Smith; siblings, Edward James Smith, Mark Smith, and Cathy Jones.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N 21st, St. Newark, Ohio 43055. A 12 pm funeral service will take place Friday, February 28, followed immediately by a graveside service with military honors presented by the Licking County Veterans Alliance at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Pastor Wally officiating.
