Trudy Burwell

Trudy Irene Burwell, age 78, of Thornville, passed away on July 11, 2026. Trudy was born on March 6, 1948, in Oak Hill, WV, to the late Robert and Gertrude Sampson.

She enjoyed a successful career as a real estate broker serving families throughout Perry and Licking Counties. A respected professional in her field, she was a proud member of the Million Dollar Club and was known for her integrity, dedication, and commitment to helping countless families throughout her career. Trudy found great joy in spending time with her family, preparing home-cooked meals, and opening her home to those she loved. An avid animal lover, she had a special place in her heart for all animals and cherished the companionship they brought to her life.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Dwight Eugene Burwell; children, Shawn Burwell, Heather (Brandon) Walsh; granddaughter, Kaylin Walsh.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Cherita Burwell; sisters, Della Harvey, Helen “Jenny” Rogers, and Bernice Clark.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 20, 2026 from 10 - 12 pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, where her services will immediately follow at 12 pm with Pastor Jason Kear officiating. We will meet in Riverside Cemetery at 1:30 pm.
