Tyler Andrew Kinney, 24, of Newark, died Wednesday, September 25, 2024. He was born September 14, 2000 in Newark to Doug Kinney and Shannon Shepherd.

Tyler graduated from Tri-Valley High School class of 2019. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye and Pittsburgh Steelers fan and an overall fan of sports. He had an ability to remember statistics and winners and losers of games that happened years ago. He loved spending time with his family, especially his cousins. He made sure to never leave his loved ones without a hug and an "I love you." He also had a love for animals.

He is survived by his mother, Shannon Shepherd; father and stepmother, Doug and Stacey Kinney; stepdad, Matt Hoffer; brothers, Dalton Anker and Talan Kinney; maternal grandparents,Paul and Chris Shepherd; paternal grandmother, Lynda Kinney; grandparents, Skip and Deb Cramer; aunts, Kelly LaRe, Jamie (Anna Vogt) Shepherd and Tina (Glen) Misenhimer; uncles, Christopher (Abbie) Shepherd and Travis (Amanda) Cramer; several cousins and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jim Kinney; maternal great grandparents, Evelyn and Everett Shepherd; great grandmother, Katherine Asher and great grandfather Rodney Giesey.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 30, 2024 from 5-8 pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark and Tuesday from 9-10 am at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 10:00 am at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home with Pastor Cory Campbell officiating.
