Valerie "Val" Edith Maybee, 73, of Newark, died Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Flint Ridge Nursing Home. She was born February 24, 1953 in Mt. Pleasant, MI to the late Dale and Evelyn (Gibson) Maybee.

Val dedicated her career as a manager at local BP gas stations in Newark, where she was known for her strong work ethic and friendly presence. In her free time, she enjoyed playing Yahtzee, darts, and shooting pool, finding joy in both friendly competition and time spent with others.

She is survived by cousins, Tom and Tania Gibson of Michigan; and sister-in-law, Pat Maybee of Arizona; and brother-in-law, Chuck Parker of Arizona.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Dalene Parker; and brother, Walt Maybee.

A graveside service for family will be held at a later date.
