Wayne passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, surrounded by his family at his residence. He was born September 20, 1945, in Newark, OH, to the late Swazy and Anna (Thompson) Wright.

Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1968. Following his service, he worked for Big Bear and later retired from the Newark Air Force Base. Even after retirement, Wayne continued to give back to his community, working part-time since 2012 at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, where he was cherished as a father figure by many.

He was a devoted member of Neal Avenue Methodist Church, KPA, the Elks, Vietnam Veterans #55, the American Legion, and he was a member of the Hartford Fair Agricultural Society, where he served as a senior board member. Wayne loved the outdoors and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan.

Known for his loving heart, wonderful sense of humor, and his ability to make friends with everyone he met, Wayne truly knew no stranger. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Judy Kay (Trott) Wright; daughters, Julie and Tara; one granddaughter; siblings, David Wright, Linda (Bruce) Varner, John (Theresa) Hughes, Beth (Clint) Colvin, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Eugene and Pearl (Donaldson) Trott; son-in-law, Michael Hupp; siblings, Denzel Wright, Darryl Wright, Alan Wright, Donna Boring, Shirley Wilson, Arlene Stewart, and Bev Siegle.
