Willard Keith Glancy, age 84, of Martinsburg, Ohio, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Knox Community Hospital. He was born on March 10, 1940, in Malta, Ohio, to Charles E. and Mary Helen (McLane) Glancy. The family moved to Martinsburg, Ohio, when Keith was very young, and that is where he lived for most of his life. He was a 1958 graduate of Utica High School, and a veteran with the US Army National Guard.

Keith married the love of his life, Velma Marie Wilt, on June 15, 1960. Together, they raised their family of four sons, but their hearts were big enough for many more children. They opened their home to a number of foster children and also enjoyed taking their nieces and nephews along with them on vacations to places as near as Kings Island and as far away as Odessa, Texas.

Through the years, Keith worked for the Continental Can Company and the Ariel Corporation in Mount Vernon. He was also self-employed for several years. Perhaps one of his favorite jobs was serving as a groundskeeper for a mobile home park in Florida during the winter.

Keith and Velma were members of the Martinsburg Church of Christ. In the summers, they volunteered their time working at Wilderness Camps for Danny Gault's God's Rolling Acres, Camp Wakatomika, and later Round Lake Christian Assembly. Keith taught Bible classes and led hiking trips while Velma worked in the tent kitchen, preparing meals for young campers using gas grills and the campfire.

Keith served as a Clay Township Trustee and was also a founding member of the Bladensburg Volunteer Fire Department, where he served in nearly every capacity, from firefighter to assistant chief.

Other memberships included the Special Forces Search and Rescue Motorcycle Club, the Arrow Point Campground Family, and the Martinsburg "Feedstore Step Kids," who enjoyed many summer reunions together through the years.

Keith was happiest on his motorcycle with Velma, and that is how they spent most of their retirement. Together, they saw much of the country on two wheels and logged tens of thousands of miles. They enjoyed traveling with other motorcyclists and made several close friends over the years that way. They had many great stories to tell from their adventures on the road.

Keith is survived by his four sons: Shaun (Tammy) Glancy of Newark, Aaron Glancy of Wisner, Louisiana, Jason (Tammy) Glancy of Martinsburg, and Brian Glancy of Utica; 10 grandchildren: Zoe Moran, Kaya Glancy, Ashley Burton, Kayla Tackett, Noah Glancy, Zack Glancy, Bethany Glancy, Abigail Glancy, Audrey Glancy and Annie Glancy; three great grandchildren: Harper Tackett, Coraline Tackett, and Spencer Burton; a sister, Saralou (Dick) Swan of Utica; a sister- and brother-in-law, Mary Jo and Larry Grant of Martinsburg, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Velma Glancy; one brother, Rodney Glancy; and two sisters, Carol Glancy and Linda Hulse.

Services will be held this Friday, February 7, at the Utica Church of Christ, 115 N. Central Avenue, Utica, Ohio. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM, and a memorial service will begin at 6:00 PM. Keith's nephew, Doug Swan, Senior Minister at the Utica Church of Christ, will officiate. Military honors will be provided by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
