William "Tim" Leroy Cochran, age 73, of Newark, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024, at Riverside Hospital. He was born in Zanesville, Ohio on July 17, 1950.

Tim loved and served the Lord. He was an active member of his church and was a former Sunday School teacher. He loved watching NASCAR, especially the #43 team and loved to tell his stories to everyone he met. He retired from American Electric Power after 37 years. He went on to work various other jobs. He currently was the Hardware Specialist at Home Depot in Newark for the past 3 years. He loved his job and truly enjoyed helping customers and his coworkers who he referred to as his second family. Tim volunteered for the Utica and Mary Ann Township Fire Departments for 36 years. He was also a member of homeland security and the NRA. He also volunteered in his local community and was a former coach for Utica and St. Louisville farm teams.

He is survived by the love of his life of 34 years, Sandy (Nichols) Cochran; children, Autumn (Tony) Amore, Draven Hill, Andrew (Jess) Cochran, Stepdaughter Janet Gartner, and stepson Jeff Gartner; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Barb Edgell; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of which he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Lacey; granddaughter, Taylor Gartner; brother, Tom Cochran; brother-in-law and best friend, Dale Banks and his parents Clarence and Minnie (Medley) Cochran.

Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Friday, June 28,2024, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N 21st, St. Newark, Ohio 43055. A 10am funeral service will take place Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, followed immediately by a graveside service at Oak Hill Cemetery, Pastor Roger Conley officiating.
