Yvonne Abbott Miller

A funeral service for Yvonne Abbott Miller, 96, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with Rev. Zachary Morgan and Rev. Dr. John Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2024, and from 12 to 1 p.m. on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark.

Yvonne passed away February 28, 2024, at The Inn at Chapel Grove.  She was born January 25, 1928, in Somerset, OH, to the late Robert Cecil and Nellie Inez (Morrison) Abbott.

Yvonne was a member of Community Wesleyn Church. She had the best laugh and lived quite a life. A mother of six, grandmother of 17 and in the end had 65 descendants. She was a servant, a nurse, a crocheting whiz, basketball fanatic, reader, word search loving, football watching wonder of a lady. She was a prayer warrior who honed her skills every day. Her family has great memories that will hold close to their hearts.

She is survived by her children, Rev. Dr. John Miller (Lucille), Deborah Pintz (Frank), Timothy Miller (Pennie), Alice Morgan (Kent), and Samuel Abbott Miller (Amy); sisters, JoAnn Nelson and Karen LeMasters (Steve); 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Edward Miller; son, James E. Miller; brothers, Dr. R.C. Abbott, Jr. and James Abbott, and granddaughter, Sherri Miller.
