A funeral service for Zona A. Campbell, 91, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday July 13, 2026, at the Brucker & Kishler funeral home, 985 N 21st St, Newark, Ohio 43055 with Robin Conley officiating. Burial will follow in the Newark Memorial Gardens.
Zona Campbell passed away July 4, 2026, at Hearth Brook Assisted Living. She was born July 22, 1934, in New Paris, Ohio to the late Marvin and Ada (Kettering) Petry.
Zona faithfully attended Newark Heights Church of God for over 65 years where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and supported the women’s ministry through countless hours of cooking and baking, crafting, and generous hospitality. Zona was a devoted prayer warrior and ministered to others through her kindness and warm smile. She was known for her loving hugs and welcomed all with her big embrace. Zona loved spending time with her family playing games, preparing home cooked meals, or just sitting and talking over a cup of coffee. Heaven has received a God fearing and remarkable woman.
Zona is survived by her three loving children, Diana (Steve) Smith, of Newark, Ohio, Delbert (Chris) Campbell of Apollo Beach, Florida, and Kandy (Dave) Bradford of Cecilia, Kentucky; two sisters, Evelyn Scott of Greenville, Ohio and Marilyn Bannon of Tuscan, Arizona; five grandchildren, Amber Winkle, Sherri Smith, Ahnna Morris, Amanda Swinehart, and Jenna Richards; and eleven great grandchildren Shelby Beavers Winkle and Karly Tabor, Steven and John (JJ) Smith, James David (JD) and John Marion Morris, Ava, Wyatt, and Campbell Swinehart, and Aubrey and Lincoln Richards.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Marion Campbell, two brothers David and Duane Petry and one sister Patsy Jordan.
