Barbara Jean Smith, 77, of Heath, died Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born January 30, 1944 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Cecil and Mary "Susan" (Hatcher) Sparrow.

Barbara loved animals, shopping with her daughter, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Chuck) Holmes; grandsons, Luke Holmes and Philip (Hannah) Holmes; two great grandchildren, Brynley and Amelia Holmes; and half-sister, Wanda Brown.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Smith.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Licking County Humane Society, 825 Thornwood Dr. SW, Heath, OH 43056.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
