Richard P. "Dick" Wells, 79, of Nashport, OH died Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born October 20, 1942, in Savannah, OH to the late John and Emilie (Brown) Wells.

Dick graduated from Norwalk H.S. Class of 1960 and was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He spent his career working for the State Highway Patrol and retired as a Sergeant. His passions included time at the Elks, the Moose, the campground,  the lake, and deer camp.

He is survived by his daughter, Kristin (Rodd) Torbert; stepdaughter, Angie (William) Lane; stepson, Mike (Julie) Schell; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sister, Joan (George) Klien; and longtime companion, Janet Shugarts.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet Wells; second wife, Bev Wells; and grandson, Skip Wells.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 9, 2022, from 11-2 PM at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21 st St., Newark where military honors will be presented by the Licking County Veterans Alliance and an Elks memorial service by Newark Elks #391 will follow at 2:00 PM.
